A new milestone

Standard

Summer is here, and it seems like its going by really fast. Its already mid june.. unbelievable ..
The girls have been waiting anxiously for summer to get here to get “home” to ride their bikes, and they have been. We took them to playground, and let them ride in the parking lot ( a huge one with no cars coming in the corner)
And we took the training wheels off and we practiced and practiced, and what do you know, Asia and Naomi they learned it.
Being a scandinavian i always dreamed and pictured me taking my kids on a bike ride, riding our bikes to school, the supermarket,  the woods, you name it, most danes can’t live without a bike.
And now that they don’t need training wheels anymore, I’m getting a little closer to that being my reality. maybe next summer Maliyah will learn too but till then, I’m enjoying seeing them bike around

Baby Steps, baby steps….

Standard

I love photography, and as i became a mother, watching my little babies turn into fresh toddlers, to young kids, to independent young girls.  Just growing and growing and constantly changing phases in life, changing challenges and going through new growth spurts, I only grew closer and closer to my camera.
Because I learned how important it is to catch these special moments that soon will only be memories. And how beautiful is it, that we can take pictures. and get to save these precious moments and save it, and make it timeless. I love it.
I love it love it love it LOVE IT.
So I’ve been playing with idea for the longest to get my own website, and lately I’ve had a few photoshoots for friends, so now After weeks of trying I finally finished uploading my pictures,
So ladies and gents I hereby present my first website, now hopefully i will soon have my first paying clients ;o)

Heres the link, please feel free to come with positive criticism  and suggestions.

Just Thankful…

Standard

Through my husbands job, we have been so blessed, to get the chance to live and experience different towns, countries and cultures.
Althought it gets, challenging and sometimes a bit lonely being away from family and friends, and every 10 months having to start over, finding my way around, the grocery store, the pediatrician, the vet, the closets playground the list goes on. Its also a great experience for us as a family. we’ve learned how to rely, trust and count on each other while learning new people, places and new challenges being so far away from family and friends, and familiar food.
I love the chance that is given to us, thru my husbands job, to travel and learn new cultures, and places I(we) wouldn’t never in life otherwise been exposed to. So even when it gets rough I will forever be thankful, for all the memories I have, and whom I’ve grown into being because of the experiences, good and bad, that was made on this journey. I know it won’t be long before my husbands carrier will end, or as he say, its time to hang his sneakers up, lol.  So I’m excited to enjoy the next few years  traveling with him, before we settle down.
Its always exciting and very scary all at the same time, to wait all summer to know where our family will be for the next 10 months. We are praying for a good situation, no injuries and lots of new good memories awaiting us.  Keep us in your prayers please

Ice-sculpture’s downtown

Standard

Every saturday, the girls and I walk to the library, to look at new books that we don’t have at home.
I really like the local stadtbucheri  that they here in Tubingen, they have toys for the smaller siblings and crayons for the creative minds.
On our walk to the library we pass a local bakery, and every saturday they have a different Ice-sculpture, its one of the girls highlights, they hurry up to see what it could be this saturday.
So simple, but yet so beautiful

Danish Koldskål

Standard

Now that there’s spring in the air, i’ve been craving this summer  Danish dish-dessert soooo much! they don’t sell it here in germany, so i had to try and see if i could make it my self.  And  for a first attempt, it came out good.  This was also the first time our girls tried  it, and they loved it.  so I’m happy, that I now can put that into my rotation. Next step is to get my husband to try it. Now thats much more complicated ;o)

Its a fresh, sweet and lime-like drink.
best when really really cold.
We put something similar to crushed cookies on top of it.
feel free to give it a try;

1 Liter of butter milk
6 spoons of sugar
1 vallila stick
2 eggs
and 2 teaspoon of scredded lemon

Mix it all and served best when cold

Bon appétit
