Pumpkin Time

Standard

Celebrating Halloween is still new to me, and even though Louis doesn’t care for it that much, i think its important for the girls to be used to it because, they are half americans and that’s a huge tradition in the states! And any excuse for me to be a kid again, im ALL IN !!! Last year we didn’t get to celebrate it, so this year we are planing on doing it big!I know that its still a little early to cut the pumpkin but I couldn’t wait any longer.

Introducing; The pacifier basket…

Standard

I am tired of my girls pacifiers.  I don’t mind that they use em, but im tired of looking for them, they always gets lost.
And now they are at a age where they shouldnt need them as much, its time to let go of them.

I feel like ive tried everything in my power to get rid of them, or at least just get them used to only using them at night.
We tried giving them to santa, that sure didnt work, Asia just ended up being mad at santa for taking her paci or as we call it in Danish; sut.  We tried telling her, when Maliyah was born that all the new babies at the hospital now needed her paci. DIDNT WORK. ive

poked a whole it is, so there wasnt any air pressure left, DIDNT WORK: Asia even managed to bite half of it off so there was only a little bit hanging left, THAT DIDNT WORK EITHER. Naomi  bit the whole thing off as well and thru it in the garbage, and went and found another one she had in her bed room.  Ive tried and ive tried, but ive also waited (despite people’s comments) this long because of all our moving, they both must have needed something secure to hold on to. Asia is 3 and Naomi is 2, and they both have lived in 3 different continent, and in 6 different homes in their short lives. I know i know excuses!!! ;0) I could have done more, but better late than never, right?

so here we go.  A new method;  I got this basket; and the girls and I decorated it, and now thats the paci basket! The plan is that they have to put their pacifiers and blankets (or whats left of it) in there, and then when its time to  sleep they can have it. this way its in the room and they know where it is and they can see it. but not have it.  Sigh… I hope this helps. Cross your fingers, and if you have any other good ideas, Please let me know!!

PINK FOR BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH

Standard

October, is  breast cancer awareness month.
So ive changed my blog to pink. This summer I lost someone who i cared about to the battle of cancer .

I think its important to take a minute out, not only in this month, but in our daily lives, and remember the loved ones we’ve lost, or acknowledge the ones that are survivors or fighters of this sickness!

For me its important that we talk about it openly. lets remind each other how common this disease is, talk about it, cry about, think about it . We as mothers, wifes,  sisters, daughters, cousins, friends, coworkers and just being women,  are often so busy juggling  it all, that we don’t take the time out to get a check up.
A check up can save time, even lives, if its caught in an early stage. So therefore I think its important that we talk about it, cry about it and think about it, and remind each other to take the time and get checked out!  As mothers we have children that needs us around, as sisters we have siblings that needs us around, as daughters we have elders that cares for us, to be around .

So i just have one question to you, have you gotten checked out this year?

Better late than never!
To all of you who are fighting the battle of cancer, I pray that god will bless you, clean you and heal you and comfort you in whatever way you may need to get thru this war.

To all of those who won the battles! be proud of your self and your accomplishments, for being strong, when feeling sick. For never giving up even when every inch of your body was aching!  i truly admire your strength and will power! because without it, you would have never beat it!

For all of those who lost someone to the battle of cancer, may their soul’s rest in peace.
Lets take a moment and celebrate their lives and personality, in whatever way it may mean something to you.

I will light a candle, in the loving memory of someone who I cared about.
To celebrate him, i will say alrighhht and that special way he would say it, when ever possible. and tonight i will try to get to know my computer a little bit better, because ive never met anyone that knew so much about computer like he did!

I miss you Mr. Harmon

im so proud to be a dane. :0)

Everyday i try to catch up on the Danish news, thru our online newspapers.
And even though it’s not that often something big happens, it’s still nice for me to get the latest updates, this way i don’t feel like im so far away from home, and it gives me a chance to be able to talk about stuff that’s current going on with my friends and family, whether its serious stuff or just gossip.

Denmark are one of the few country’s that still have a queen. we don’t have a president or a king. we have our queen, Margrethe.
She is a strong woman,  and she is a part of so many different organisations ! Even though most people don’t  know that Denmark even exists, she has deffenlently  done her part around the world to help and to represent our country.  and also done so much for equality amongst women, in this so-called mans world.

So today when i read our newspaper online i read an article about her and her family and they posted some private pictures from her youth. and one picture just made me laugh.
She is sitting on the grass with her sons, having a picnic while her sons are drinking soda she is having a beer!
NOW THATS A DANE FOR YOU! and a true princess!

she made me proud to be a dane. :0)

SKÅL SKÅL SKÅL SKÅL SKÅL SKÅL SKÅL SKÅL SKÅL SKÅL SKÅL

It woudnt let me paste the pictures, so im posting some regular pictures of her instead!

she is also known for smoking ALOT!  :0)

Her and her husband also likes to drink wine, they also have their own wineyard in prince Henrik home country france.

Autumn in germany!

Standard

Every morning I ride the same way when i take the girls to kindergarten, but the other morning the sun was out and i figured ill bundle maliyah up and take her for a walk. we walked the same way as we normally drive, but this time i saw it with different eyes. I got to practise with my camera. And I met a chimney cleaner for the very first time, in germany they say if you meet one its means you will have good luck.  This time of the year is my favorite time, the changing of the colors in the trees, the smells, the feelings in the air. cool but not cold, it all makes it so cozy, to have  lid candles and be under the covers at night, while drinking hot chocolate!
