Now that there’s spring in the air, i’ve been craving this summer Danish dish-dessert soooo much! they don’t sell it here in germany, so i had to try and see if i could make it my self. And for a first attempt, it came out good. This was also the first time our girls tried it, and they loved it. so I’m happy, that I now can put that into my rotation. Next step is to get my husband to try it. Now thats much more complicated ;o)
Its a fresh, sweet and lime-like drink.
best when really really cold.
We put something similar to crushed cookies on top of it.
feel free to give it a try;
1 Liter of butter milk
6 spoons of sugar
1 vallila stick
and 2 teaspoon of scredded lemon
Mix it all and served best when cold
Today Asia looked at me and said, mommy, I want sprinkles on my nose just like you…
I was confused, and it took me a minute to realize she meant my freckles :o)
The cutest compliment i’ve ever gotten!
WIth my husbands work, he doesn’t have much time off doing the season, but every time he gets 2 or 3 days off we try to do or see as much as possible. We learned a long time ago, never to take anything for granted, and that includes where we live. We never know for sure if will be coming back when we leave, and I would hate to look back and think, we was so close why didn’t we see or do this.
I think with the lifestyle we have, with moving 3 times a year, to different countries, it has also learned us how to live much more in the moment, and more intense. I think if we were settled in a home, having 3 days off would mean PURE relaxation, a chance to do all the things we think we would be doing if not working.
We was lucky that Louis had 3 days off, so we decided to make a trip to Prague. Even thought we didn’t have much time to see and do everything there. also with 3 kids and 2 dogs. I must admit Prague is the most beautiful european city I’ve ever visited.
The castles, the scenery, the lake, the statues, the shops, the cafe’s, the undiscovered artist on the street.
Just breathtaking and beautiful- But also with a hint of suffering, darkness and mystery.
We packed the car up, with snacks, music books and games, and we left early in the morning, when i googled it it was an approx 5 hour drive. But shortly after leaving our house our GPS just didn’t want to cooperate. so we had to just go off, of what we knew. going towards nearby cities. Thank God for my hubby and his good sense of whereabouts, once we made it to Prague he stopped a Taxi and showed the man the address to our Hotel and we finally found it. Good thinking Louis ;o)
Here’s a few pictures from our trip;

Me Rubbing the Statue of Nepomucky, on charles Bridge in Prague.
It’s said that he was tossed in the river, with chains, and whom ever rub his statue will one day return to Prague. So i was rubbing away ;o)
Moving around, and living in different countries, can be stressful, but it is also interesting.
Most of the time, everything is very familiar, but yet done so differently. One of my first favorite things to do, when visiting a new country is going to the supermarket. that may sound weird to you but to me it’s very interesting.
Of course I miss japan when it comes to discovering new things.
But one of the first things I noticed when first moving to germany, is that they don’t keep the eggs refrigerated. It first i was a little worried, but no one else seemed to be sick from non refrigerated eggs, and we eat aloof eggs in our family and 3 years later, (knock on wood) We still haven’t been sick from eggs once.
They are so fresh, that they are often come with a surprise, either a feather, or yeah.. hmm you get the picture ;o)
Louis and I went for a little walk, before picking our girls up from kindergarten, and i saw this little fella. I think they are so cute, wouldn’t want one in my home, but I think they are fascinating.
By curiosity i’ve been introduced to a new fruit, and i think its safe to say that I’m addicted.
I never even heard of, or seen this delicious fruit before. Its a Jamaican fruit called Ugli. Its sweet and sour at the same time but so JUICY and fresh, if you like my self never tried it before, please do.
